The Beginning
My Skin Turned Against Me
When I was 15, my skin suddenly turned against me. Not the occasional pimple — angry red breakouts, oily by lunchtime, scarring along my jawline that made me hate going to school.
My mum tried to help, and we bought everything: dermatologist prescriptions, "gentle" drugstore cleansers, fancy natural brands, and acne treatments. Some worked temporarily, but the pimples always came back. By 18, my bathroom looked like a beauty store, and my skin was worse than ever. Makeup couldn't even hide the breakouts anymore.
And it continued up until I was 22...

The Discovery
The Problem Wasn't My Skin
That's when I discovered a toxicologist explaining something I'd never considered: the problem wasn't just what I was putting on my skin, but what I was washing it with.
Big manufacturers use cheap ingredients and synthetic detergents — like SLS — that actively strip your skin's lipids and sebum.

Since I couldn't find it, I took my idea directly to a manufacturer who specialised in traditional soap-making methods.
Together, we refined it.
We deodorised the tallow so it smells completely neutral. We improved the lather naturally, and perfected the cure time so the bars actually last.
That's how my eekoHome Unscented Tallow Soap was born.
